Since their humble beginnings in 2007, Yacht Rock Revue has emerged as a pivotal figure in revitalizing yacht rock, sharing stages with icons and garnering a devoted following of “Anchorheads.” Whether performing in intimate venues or rocking arenas, their concerts promise an immersive musical journey that celebrates the timeless allure of smooth grooves. Based in Atlanta, this dynamic 10-piece ensemble blends impeccable musicianship with a deep reverence for the yacht rock genre. Their upcoming original album, Escape Artist, slated for release November 29 across four sides of vinyl, is a bold homage to this iconic sound. Each side of the album encapsulates the band’s ability to transport audiences to a simpler, more carefree time.
Lead singles like “Tropical Illusion” and “Passengers” set the tone, evoking sunsets and salty breezes with their lush instrumentation and ethereal vocals. Collaborations with yacht rock legends Elliot Lurieand Robbie Dupree underscore the band’s status as innovators within their genre. Recently on tour with Train and REO Speedwagon, Yacht Rock Revue continues to captivate audiences nationwide with their infectious energy and unabashedly joyous performances. Sarah Bahr of The New York Times reported her firsthand experience of the band’s liberating energy, observing fans who “danced for two hours to tunes from the 1970s and ’80s,” while Entertainment Weekly noted that “the shows tend to be unabashedly joyous affairs.”
