Indie Pop Rock duo, SIRSY, is known for their whirlwind live performances, playing an astounding two-hundred tour dates a year, and their new album, “Coming Into Frame”, brings the power and energy of singer/drummer Melanie ‘Mel’ Krahmer and guitarist Rich Libutti into the studio. The powerhouse performers give credit to Grammy-winning producers Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade (Hole, Radiohead, Dresden Dolls, Pixies) for knowing just how to work with them in the studio, harnessing the tornado-like energy that comes across on stage.

“Our fans have said that the energy of our live show hasn’t translated onto our previous recordings,” states Mel and Rich. “They are going to notice a different energy level on this record because of how Paul and Sean worked with us.”

SIRSY delivers hook-drenched, resonating melodies and clever, honest lyrics, writing songs that run the gamut from wildly joyful to utterly heartbreaking. Known for singing and playing drums, while standing, and handling bass (on a keyboard, played with a drumstick), Mel is also known to throw in a flute solo. Her manic energy is grounded by Rich’s solid, yet seething, guitar playing. He also performs bass with a keyboard at his feet. Together, they create a dynamically full sound that resonates like a five piece band. Mel is endorsed by Vater Percussion and has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine.

Normally headliners, SIRSY has shared the stage with and appeared as special guests of artists such as Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Maroon 5, Train, RaRaRiot, Boys Like Girls, Third Eye Blind, Lifehouse, Blues Traveler, and Cheap Trick.

SIRSY’s latest release, “Coming Into Frame”, will drop later this spring, and the duo is mounting a nationwide tour in support of the album. Mel and Rich are stepping out of their east coast/mid-west comfort zone and will be performing in the south and on the west coast for this tour.
