Legend Lost: David Crosby dies at 81
David Crosby, the legendary musician and songwriter, passed away at the age of 81. He was a founding member of two of the most iconic and influential bands of the 1960s and 1970s, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Crosby began his career in the music industry in the early 1960s as a member of The Byrds, a band known for blending folk, rock, and country music. With The Byrds, he co-wrote and sang on several hit songs, including “Eight Miles High” and “Why.” In 1969, he formed the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young with Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young. The band released several successful albums and hit songs, including “Ohio,” “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” and “Teach Your Children.”
Crosby’s solo career also saw success, with the release of several critically acclaimed albums, such as “If I Could Only Remember My Name,” “Crosby & Nash,” and “Wind on the Water.” He was also known for his activism, particularly in the areas of environmentalism and anti-war efforts.
