Veteran singer/songwriter Josh Kelley reflects on his personal life and journey in new episode of Live at the Print Shop
It’s the latest edition of the buzzed-about online concert series, which has also featured Skip Martin, Marc Broussard, Collective Soul, and more
Veteran singer/songwriter Josh Kelley is the latest artist to appear on Live at the Print Shop, the new buzzed-about online performance and interview series out of Marietta, Georgia. Featuring a personal conversation that touches on Josh’s recording history, his relationship with wife Katherine Heigl, his history as a Division 1 golf player, and more, the episode also features performances of several of Kelley’s hits, including the pop smash “Amazing,” as well as a stirring reinterpretation of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire.”
A singer/songwriter who has dipped his toes in adult alternative, country, and more, there is no denying that this native Georgian has had a varied career, with hits such as “Amazing” and “Only You,” as well as theme songs for TV shows like Mike and Molly, the Golf Channel, and feature film Home Sweet Hell, not to mention having his work featured in Smallville, Scrubs, Brothers and Sisters and MTV’s The Hills. On his most recent studio album ‘New Lane Road,’ Kelley comments, “It’s the most honest I’ve ever been, and it’s the best subject matter I’ve ever had to write about. When I was first coming up, I was young and inexperienced, and I had to make things up. Now that I’m older and I’ve traveled the world and had kids and have seen more and felt more, I have things to write songs about.”
Since its debut in July of 2019, Live at The Print Shop has been bubbling under as a go-to live performance platform for rising artists as well as seasoned performers. Featuring 40 minutes of performances and 30 minutes of one-on-one interviews, the multi-camera, monthly series has already hosted such eclectic and esteemed names as Collective Soul, The Mavericks, The White Buffalo, Shawn Mullins, Marc Broussard, Drivin N Cryin, Sammy Rae & the Friends, Blues Traveler and Colin Hay (Men at Work), and more. What sets it apart is the high quality of production, the in-depth, personal interviews, and its focus on doing good for the wider community – each artist chooses a charity which is highlighted in the episode and further supported by a donation from The Print Shop.
Started by the Marietta-based entrepreneur Adam Blank, Live At the Print Shop features performance footage from Blank’s state-of-the-art soundstage basement, and interview footage from inside his retro-but-refined print shop in Marietta. Blank’s music-driven entrepreneurial ventures include the music merchandise company Blank Threads, and the production/promotion business, Blank Records. Recent and upcoming releases from the Print Shop include a live album by the Atlanta based singer/songwriter Angie Aparo and a new episode of Live at the Print Shop featuring the Scottish phenom vocalist/guitarist Dave Archibald.
Live at the Print Shop is becoming a word-of-mouth gem for both musicians and music fans alike. “It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done,” Blank says. “I do it for the satisfaction that comes with giving musicians a platform and new opportunities to share their music with a wider audience.”
Stay tuned for continued updates.
