Getting there wasn’t easy — but plenty of people showed up.

Woodstock is celebrating 50 years as a musical institution and these images show the hopeful optimism of a fledgling cultural revolution. Fresh, young faces, splattered by rain, stymied by crowds and transportation issues were determined to get where they were going.
