New York rapper, writer, director, entrepreneur and creative visionary Lanz Pierce has released her new single GET IT,” a razor-sharp takedown of double standards, sexuality and gender expectations in modern culture. Blending classic hip-hop and undeniable flow with unfiltered punchlines, “GET IT” is both a head-nodder and a bold rebuke —part banger, part manifesto.

Drawing inspiration from Eminem’s Slim Shady LP era and filtered through Lanz’s own unapologetic lens, “GET IT” taps into the same no-holds-barred energy that first made Eminem a voice of a generation.

“I took a page from Eminem’s ‘Role Model’ and ‘My Name Is’ — flipped it, and made it LANZ, 2025,” shares Pierce. “It’s a bop, no doubt — but it’s also saying something. Music that doesn’t just slap but also pushes back — against the boxes we’re told to fit into. Whether it’s gender, age, sexuality, or the performative madness of social media — this is a humble flex that says: I don’t need to play by your rules.”

Pierce was discovered and signed by Jimmy Iovine to Interscope Records before she turned 18. She embarked on a multi-city tour with Snoop Dogg, performing alongside hip-hop legends like Kurupt and Teddy Riley, and appeared  on major stages including LollapaloozaSXSW, and Austin City Limits. She was named a BMI ‘Who’s Next’ Songwriter on the Rise alongside then-emerging artist Lady Gaga, and went on to collaborate with heavyweights like Rico Wade and Three 6 Mafia resulting in a hit titled “Swerve.”

A gifted lyricist with a distinctive voice, Lanz made her name on platforms like Sway in the Morning and Statik Selektah’s SHADE45, showing she could go bar-for-bar in freestyle circles and still deliver hooks with substance. She later signed a publishing deal with SONY/ATV, further cementing her place as both a writer and performer.

Early in her career, Pierce also caught the attention of legendary producer and guitarist Nile Rodgers, who became a close mentor and served as executive producer on one of her first major projects. Rodgers was immediately struck by her ability to fluidly switch between rapping and singing, calling her delivery “the most brilliant shit” he’d heard in a long time. His early support helped solidify her credibility and creative direction during her formative years in the industry.

After parting ways with the major label system in her early twenties, Pierce raised independent capital to launch her own imprint. She released three albums — Point of No ReturnEditors Eye, and Los City — through distribution deals with Empire and Foundation Media. Her debut LP Los City drew praise from Complex for its narrative ambition and bi-coastal influence, and was paired with a fashion capsule launched in partnership with Milk Studios.

In parallel to her music career, Lanz has carved out a unique space as a filmmaker, director, and creative entrepreneur. She has directed music videos for artists like Kat DeLuna and Arcangel, and recently adapted and directed the short film HISPANICUS, based on a novel.

She is also the founder of Luminary Creative Agency, a high-fidelity brand and creative incubator that helps global clients shape ideas from concept to execution. Under her leadership, Luminary has played a key role in the growth of several music-tech ventures that challenge the status quo, including HiFi, an AI-powered fintech platform for artist financial empowerment that was acquired and folded into Jack Dorsey’s Block Inc.Aspen Artists, a music and media platform created by Charlie Walk, former President of Republic Records and Epic RecordsTune.FM, a blockchain-based streaming platform hosting exclusive releases from artists like Snoop Dogg and Nappy Roots; and YousicPlay, an AI-driven music learning platform featuring stars like Ne-Yo, offering personalized, mobile-first music education.

With “GET IT,” Lanz Pierce is proving once again that she’s not here to follow anyone else’s script. The new single embodies her ethos: unfiltered truth, uncompromising craft, and a refusal to be boxed in by age, industry, or identity.

Rather than mark a departure from music, these projects reflect a broader evolution. Lanz continues to redefine what it means to be a creator in the modern era—bridging artistry, technology, and entrepreneurship to build culture-shaping platforms that go beyond the traditional industry model.
“GET IT” arrives on the heels of two recent singles — the sultry, whip-smart “Like That” and the raw, introspective “Loved Her” — all part of a forthcoming EP due later this year. The project will showcase Lanz’s full range: punchy, fearless, reflective, and sharp.
