Indie Rocker Brady Harris evolves his Beatles-infused Americana Rock sound on new EP “Hotel In The Sky”
Indie Rock Musician and Producer Brady Harris further evolves his signature Beatles-infused Americana Rock sound as he welcomes listeners to his sonic abode on new EP “Hotel In The Sky”, out April 14th on streaming platforms. Brady’s latest record features crunchy vintage electric riffs, multi-layered melodies, crackling pop sensibility and Lennon-ish vocals that will surely transport listeners to a different time and place.
This Texas-born, California-dwelling artist is all about the song craft, looseness and flow. In other words, Rock n’ Roll with emphasis on the roll. Popdose once described his work with the following statement; “Imagine if the Beatles were from Texas” All Music Guide adds “Harris possesses an eclecticism similar to that of Jeff Tweedy (Wilco).”
Written, recorded, performed and produced by Brady Harris, “Hotel In The Sky” was recorded at BlackPug Studios in Los Angeles, CA and La Grotte Studios, Nice, France.
Title-track “Hotel In The Sky” pays tribute to a real-life, notorious East London drug den and to that feeling of being deep in the throes of love. “Economy of Sound” is a euphemism for the transformative power of music and the escapism it can provide, especially through the eyes (and ears) of a lonely teenager trapped in suburbia. “Welcome Back to the Comedown” explores the comedown after the ending of a love affair, while “Parting Gift” is a resonant ode to the bad love affair that refuses to die. Lastly, “Chateau Hill” was inspired by Colline du Château, which offers a gorgeous, sweeping view of the Old Town Nice and the beaches along the Promenade des Anglais.
Brady Harris’s unmistakable expression is one of a true storyteller and wordsmith creating songs that feel like instant classics. “Hotel in the Sky” expertly combines complimentary subgenres and orchestral arrangements while drawing on influences ranging from Dan Auerbach, Elliott Smith, Jack White, Wilco and John Lennon to create an immersive 5-track tour-de-force. “Hotel In The Sky” truly feels like a wild stay at a pleasant place where memories will do you no harm.

A former busker in London and Paris, Brady performs frequently in Southern California and occasionally in France and England. Brady is also one half of the folk-rock duo Wood Hitch. AllMusic.com described Brady’s music as ” Liverpool-meets-Laurel Canyon and Liverpool (for its Beatlesque touches, from Harris’ Lennon-ish vocals to the George Martin-evoking string arrangements).”
Press Quotes:
“Harris possesses an eclecticism similar to that of Jeff Tweedy (Wilco). These songs have outstanding staying power, as Harris’ substantial talents lift him well above those with whom he will be categorized.”
-Matt Fink, ALL MUSIC GUIDE
“The Texas-bred, Los Angeles based Harris goes on a highly-rewarding musical trip through Beatlesesque pop-rock and singer-songwriter intimacy.” –Michael Berick, NO DEPRESSION MAGAZINE
“Roots-rock Americana with the vibrant, crackling pop of Revolver-era Beatles.”
-George Zahora, SPLENDID
“Stellar…Imagine if the Beatles were from Texas”
-Keith Creighton, Popdose
“[Brady] is the standard-bearer of the sub-genre known as ‘Beatlesque-Americana’.”
-Absolute PowerPop
Rich in its details, Harris’ tunes range everywhere from ’80s college radio somewhere between the dB’s and The Church, to echoes of the Beatles filtered through lazy, twangy Americana. He capably assembles the sweetest of melodies alongside darker sentiments, making for honest, aching song craft. With a voice often likened to John Lennon on his early solo albums, this California dwelling Texas native seems to bring the best of both locales to his sound – twinkling pop, dark humor and engaging storytelling.”
