Mariel Jacoda Joins 2ŁØT for the Searching New Single “I Want It All”

A title like “I Want It All” can sound like a straightforward declaration of ambition. In 2ŁØT’s hands, it becomes something less settled. The band’s new single with Mariel Jacoda explores how desire survives success, taking an apparently triumphant phrase and filling it with uncertainty.

Available now tostream, the track is the final advance release from 2ŁØT’s sophomore album, RE/SOLVE. The record arrives September 25th, with “I Want It All” occupying the closing position in its 16-song sequence.

Jacoda appears alongside the band’s combination of electronic production and live instrumentation. That meeting reflects 2ŁØT’s broader Electronic Jam Music approach, which brings hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, rock, and improvisation together without placing any one tradition permanently at the center.

The song’s lyrics look back at the desire to “be someone.” The perspective changes once that goal is reached, as the narrator discovers that becoming the imagined person has not eliminated every doubt or want. What remains is a mix of appreciation and appetite, each feeling complicating the other.

Within RE/SOLVE, that conflict represents the final stage of the “Second Hero’s Journey.” The album is structured around life after the expected moment of triumph, when success must be absorbed into a shifting identity. Its characters and perspectives encounter self-reflection, loss, disillusionment, connection, and renewal along the way.

The path to the album has included tracks as different as the relationship-focused “Come Together” and the jazz-inflected “Tread,” featuring Frank Moka. “Favorite Star” centered on outgrowing a previous self, while “Lose My Mind” examined the emotional fallout of a fractured relationship.

Collaboration has played a substantial role throughout the rollout. “I Hurt Myself Again” paired the band with Elise Trouw and 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Cameron McCloud. “Iris” featured GRAMMY-winning guitarist Eric Krasno and members of The Funky Knuckles, and the completed album adds appearances from Jon Batiste and Robert Randolph.

That community reflects the open-ended character of the band itself. Rudy Love Jr., Chase Koch, Omar Jahwar II, Sage Judd, and Robert Trusko have previously worked across electronic and improvisational circles with artists including Aloe Blacc, Steve Aoki, Paul Oakenfold, Albert Harvey, and Michael Kang.

A visualizer for “I Want It All” accompanies the release. The single provides the last glimpse of RE/SOLVE before the full album becomes available on September 25th.
