Ontario’s singer-songwriter Mel Monaco releases hyper-catchy new single “Love Tides”

Mel Monaco‘s hyper-catchy new single “Love Tides” serves as a gentle reminder to let go of our stresses and embrace the ever-present beauty of life. Mel’s creative approach is both playful and charismatic.

Mel was the recipient of the 2019 St. Catherines Emerging Artist Award. Monaco has also graced the stages such as Canal Days, opening for Blue Rodeo, the timeless Horseshoe Tavern, as well as selling out New Years Eve at The First Ontario Performing Arts Centre. An original artist for over a decade, she fondly refers to her breezy signature sound as ‘yacht pop’, a unique fusion of RnB, Jazz, Soul and Funk.

Inﬂuenced by her musical and creative family, there is no doubt this broad mixture of inspiration aided in the foundation of Monaco’s musical fate. Starting out on the stage, Monaco was led to her artistic home and greatest passion- singing and song writing.

It was at the age of 18, an ambitious Mel set the bar high, desiring to write and release 5 records before the age of 30. Mission accomplished! Having now released 6 records, Monaco’s most recent release “Love Tides” 2023 is turning heads.

With a rising maturity and developments from previous album releases such as

“Better Not Bitter” 2021, “Catching Ladybugs” 2019, “Wishing Waiting Floating” 2019 and “Falling for the Third Time” 2017, Monaco continues to explore influences of RnB, Jazz, Soul and Funk defining her now notable genre, ‘Yacht Pop’!

In addition to every album’s different and unique success, Monaco has earned accolades in her community, receiving recognition from the Arts and Culture committee in 2019, winning the St. Catherines Emerging Artist Award.
