Singer-songwriter Stan Snow returns with star-studded new album ‘Road to the Sun’

Prolific musician and song craftsman Stan Snow returns with his most ambitious and powerful release yet on rousing new album ‘Road to the Sun’, armed with a star-studded cast of musicians and an ambitious collection of songs with intricate arrangements and universal, deeply human themes. With its roots firmly planted in rock n’ roll soil, Stan’s latest release prioritizes the almighty groove, taking influence from Americana as well as Indie, Progressive, Classic Rock and Symphonic soundscapes.
Much like George Harrison’s visionary later work, Stan Snow leads the way musically and thematically through profoundly reflective and sacred territory on this illuminating new collection. Lyrically, ‘Road to the Sun’ lets the light in through a prism of mysticism, inner growth and hard-won wisdom. ‘Road to the Sun’ welcomes and accepts all elements of the human experience, while primarily opening the window to a flood of brightness, radiance and inspiration.
The combination of philosophical lyricism and the musical tapestry overflowing with bright melodies provides the experience of being suspended in air, a perfect sonic space for deep contemplation. Much like Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ or Tom Petty’s ‘Wildflowers’, ‘Road to the Sun’ undoubtedly creates a singular sound that, while expansive and dynamic, does not deviate from it’s path or thematic heart. The end result is an experience akin to a meditation walk through nature. Stan’s commanding, smooth lead vocals guide the arrangements through dynamic, ever-shifting terrain. Stylistically, this release should provide ample inspiration for fans of Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney, Sting, Pink Floyd, Mark Knopfler, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Pete Townshend, Neil Young and David Crosby.
No AI – REAL music, REAL musicians. Road to the Sun is another adventure in sonic and lyrical landscapes. All REAL music written by Stan Snow and recorded by REAL musicians. There are 12 songs on the album. Mostly Indie Rock and Americana, but with other styles brought in as needed. The musicianship includes Stan Snow, Abe Laboriel Jr. (Paul McCartney), Valerie Pinkston (Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston), Ben Smith (Heart), and the Budapest Scoring Orchestra among others.

Stan Snow’s trailblazing guitar style is a connective tissue throughout this epic release. His most prevalent guitar influences include Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Pat Metheny, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Steve Howe, Michael Hedges, Steve Morse and many others.
Each song is different. All songs were written and recorded in the order they appear on the album. “I write to satisfy the music fan within.” Snow said. “Each album is like a symphony. Each song like a movement or section. It’s intended to be actively listened to in the order that the songs appear. That said, each song is intended to stand on its own, capturing the spirit of what the song is about. The lyrics are tailored to fit the music and vice versa.”
“The musicianship, for me, comes from 50 years of playing the guitar and other instruments. Every note, solo, lyric, groove, melody, voicing, chord progression, riff, arrangement, etc… has to hold my attention, …otherwise, I get bored. Each song and production has to stand up to repeated listenings, such that I want to hear these songs over and over again. It’s a craft, from beginning to end….like solving a puzzle…from the initial stages of song creation, throughout the recording and production process, and finally with the video creation and marketing. These days, most people are looking for authenticity. REAL music, written and recorded by REAL musicians. No one that I know likes to be fooled.”
